Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. As a young girl of just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and attended at the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized that she wanted to become an actor and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied dance and acting. The actress had performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the first second time back in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre professor. After eight consistent auditions producers David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast for the role of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film on the screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone made in 2001. It also was the most well-received film of the year. Opening Saturday and Sunday sales were record-breaking. The film was well-received by critics, as were the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her impressive performance. Emma's performance won her a nomination and won five awards later for the film.
