Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a musically inclined family. Growing up she was influenced by classical music, boleros and the classic romantic, ranchero, and romantic ballads. Ana is an avid fan of tangos. Also, she loves operas as well as any drama. Ana began to learn how to play and sing in the early years with her mother. She was given more formal singing instruction when she was 16 years old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In her early career, she saw her perform with many chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara. After moving in the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2002, she made her way to southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. Passion and enthusiasm for music, art, and performing keeps her involved with many local organizations as a teacher and performer. Ana was also a part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor in The Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically in the younger generations to keep this tradition alive.
